Welcome to the ETHS '58 Class Website
This is the newly designed and updated web site for the ETHS class of '58. There is still some construction in progress, but you can get a feel for what's there and what's to come. You can navigate this site in two ways, depending on whether you're viewing it on a mobile device or a PC/Laptop. Depending on the width of your window or physical screen, you'll either see, between the page title and the top of the picture of ETHS, a horizontal list of pages on the site,, a series of stacked horizontal short lines, or, a column of dots. Clicking on the lines or the dots will give you a choice of the same pages you'd see if they appeared as text. Select the page you want to see by clicking on its name.
ETHS Class of '58 60th Reunion
Fellow Classmates, Alums, Reunion Fans and Lloyd Michaels,
The years were 1954 to 1958. Our parents and grandparents had survived the Great Depression and two world wars. Around us things were turning hopeful, and the nation was blossoming with new growth, new technology, and a general feeling of enthusiasm. Young families were buying homes, flashy new cars were appearing, and a relatively new home appliance, called television, was becoming common. The joys of being a teenager included new music, new styles of dance, and a feeling of independence. Go back for a moment to that happy world of white sport coats and pink carnations,
We were blessed to be growing up in a beautiful town beside a beautiful lake and attending a high school ranked in the top ten of high schools in the country. And when we weren’t studying, we were busy having fun! Do you still remember those nights at the Plant Room, the Wildkit and Northwestern football weekends, John Galloway making his break-away runs, or Art Schwarm feeding the ball to George Jozwik for another Evanston basket with Mr. Bunn grinning in the cheering section? While we were living those events we were making friendships that would last a lifetime. It’s hard to believe that was all happening sixty years ago.
Fortunately, from August 16th to 19th you have a chance to relive those days. We hope you will join us in Evanston to share those memories, while you still can, with the friends who have meant so much.
This is your official invitation to the 60th Reunion of the ETHS Class of 1958.
